How many times can you say you contributed to a work of art hanging in a museum? This year you can! During Museum Night 2024 on Saturday, Nov. 2, tuftlab will be present at the Stedelijk Museum, where you will have the unique opportunity to tuft your own piece of a large tapestry that will hang in the museum.
Museum Night is all about creativity, exploration and experiencing museums and art in a new way – and this year we invite you to literally leave your mark. Under the guidance of the tuft artists, you will briefly learn the basics of tufting and contribute to a large collaborative tapestry inspired by a work of art from the museum’s collection.
What to expect.
Of course, you want to do more during Museum Night. That’s why you’ll get a brief ten-minute introduction to tufting and then spend 15 minutes tufting the 2×2 meter group carpet yourself. You will tuft your piece of a beautiful carpet that will later be given a permanent place in one of the reception rooms of the Stedelijk Museum. This is not just an art experience; it is a piece of history that you help shape.
