Your carpet is finished by the end of the day. You don't have to do anything more at home.
The workshop.
At Tuftlab, you will learn to make a complete carpet in one day. Our experienced tufters are here to help you through the entire process. With a large stock of materials, colors and all the tools you need, we have everything you need to create your own unique rug. At the end of the workshop, your rug will be finished and you can take it with you immediately.
The workshop lasts from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and teaches you:
- How to use an electric tuft gun.
- Tufting your own 45x45cm design. (may become smaller or larger due to complexity).
- How you finish your carpet to a beautiful end result, at the end of day, it is completely finished.
Good to know.
Highly pregnant, retired or physically ill? You are more than welcome, but keep in mind that this technique requires quite a bit of energy. If you’re not shocked by putting together an Ikea piece of furniture, tufting will also work. We call the physical intensity at the workshop average. You are sometimes sitting but more often working standing. The tufting machine weighs 1.4 pounds. Everyone over 18 is welcome.

We are easily accessible! Tuftlab is located at Johan Van Hasseltweg 12B in Amsterdam Noord. From Amsterdam Central Station, take Metro 52 one stop to Noorderpark. From there, walk up the stairs, turn right in a straight path to Tuftlab.
Are you coming by car? Parking is available at the door for €1.60 per hour.

Yes, you will take home your artwork at the end of the day!
At Tuftlab you will not only tuft, you will learn all the steps of finishing for a full and beautiful end result. At the end of the day, you will have finished it and know everything you need to start working on your new hobby independently at home.
During the workshop, you tuft at a fixed height of 15 millimeters for a beautiful and sturdy end result.
Elevation introduces too much complexity and technique to have any time left to actually make anything. After all, it is your first time and there is already quite a lot coming at you.
After successful completion of our workshop, tufting with elevation and relief is possible when working freely.
It's really about safety. Our carpet workshop is not suitable for children.
Reasons include the physical intensity of tufting and the use of various power tools. We want everyone to be constantly sharp, and accountable.

During the workshop, you will make a carpet averaging 45 cm in diameter.
Depending on the complexity of your design, this may be slightly larger or smaller. We do this to make sure you get it done in one day. And believe us, every inch counts.
Free cancellation of your reservation is possible up to 2 days in advance. For example, if you have a reservation on Wednesday, we need to know no later than Monday.
If something happens privately within 24 hours or you are simply ill, we fully understand and can move your reservation to another date.
