How does it work?

You book with tuftlab on a project basis, with an all-inclusive price to make your concept a full and grand carpet. From tools to our high-quality wool materials, everything is included. This is not a teaching moment. There is always someone from Tuftlab present, to whom you can turn with questions or technical problems. You have complete freedom in the complexity of your design, without the rules you are used to from our workshop. Whether you want to create a simple but stylish pattern for your interior or a complex masterpiece. Free work is always available Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Are other times more convenient? Contact. Please note that 200x200cm is a physically intensive project. We recommend this for experienced tufters. With the 2-meter frame, you get 5 consecutive days to make your project. If you book on a Monday then you have through Friday, if you book on a Wednesday, then you have through Tuesday, etc. Need more time? Then we charge €80 euros per day.

Materials.

  • Own workstation with frame of 200x200cm.
  • Choice of all our tufting machines: cut pile (7mm,15mm,40mm) and loop pile.
  • Tools such as beamer, electric shears, shaver.
  • Materials such as 32 colors of high-quality New Zealand sheep’s wool, tufting cloth, glue, non-slip finish, carpet tape.

The rules of the game.

  • Unlimited coffee, tea and snacks.
  • 2 by 2 meters is a big job, you have demonstrable tuft experience and time.
  • You may come tufting with up to two people at a time.
  • When you’re done, sweep your work area and clean up the tools.
  • You are responsible for your own safety when using tools.

In order to prevent abuse of our generous times, you are not allowed to tuft more if there is time to spare. A project is 1 canvas full. You may, of course, make several small rugs if it fits on your canvas.

We offer a cozy and inspiring environment in a nice informal atmosphere to work on your projects in Amsterdam Noord. Taking a break? Within walking distance you will find fun places like De Goudfazant, Skatecafe, FC Hyena, Hangar and many more. Come by bike, take the subway from Amsterdam Central or park your car for €1.60 per hour.
